Charlie Trotter Day
(View photos as set or slideshow.)
August 17, 2007 was Charlie Trotter Day in Chicago, so declared the city to mark the restaurant's 20th anniversary and to recognize the chef's philanthropic work. To celebrate we drank Champagne in the streets and world-famous chefs made dinner to raise over $100,000 for the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls.
Word got out that it was so much fun that on October 7th a few more chefs will join the party (Ferran Adrià, Thomas Keller, Heston Blumenthal, Pierre Hermé, Daniel Boulud, and Tetsuya Wakuda). They'll cook for The Charlie Trotter Culinary Education Foundation. Their dinner will cost $5,000 per person. If you're wondering if you should go, it is invitation only.

Ahh, to live in a world in which I had not only the $5,000 to drop, but an invitation too. Sigh.

Hey, Louisa,
I commented some at Flickr, but I don't know how to look to see if you respond. So, I'm here, too.
I love this photo of the chefs; itshe distinctly different perspective is choice.
And I only got through a couple dozen photos at Flickr. Wow. What light source are you using to get such clear and expressive photos, please?
If you get a minute, peek at my blog about being here in Portland, http://mamamepdx.blogspot.com.

Charlie Trotter is an amazing guy!
He's always the first to jump in and offer his talents to a cause.
I was lucky to taste many of his dinners while shooting at the Beard House.
And I had my own "Charlie Trotter Day" when I came to Chicago and he invited me to taste his degustation menu as his guest!
BRAVO Charlie Trotter!
