Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations

I just got an email from the Assistant Producer of Tony's new show - the adorably dynamic Diane - and the website's up. The main page has what appears to be a nearly nude Tony. Very interesting. I didn't know it was going to be that kind of a show - not that I'm complaining.

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations
Premieres Monday, 25 July 2005, 10PM, ET/PT, on the Travel Channel.

I wonder how long it will take them to notice that when you mouseover "Sneak Preview," the text block underneath spells Tony's last name incorrectly... ;)

Will be looking forward to seeing Mr. Bourdain on the telly again. And I just spotted a photo of you with Anthony and the crew!

I would totally buy the DVDs for "A Cook's Tour" if they had them -- any way this could happen? He's great on screen & I can't wait for this series.

tofu - maybe that alludes to Tony's diorientation after hardcore eating and drinking his way around the world. ;)

Pat - that's me!

ap - I just heard back from the aforementioned adorably dynamic Diane - it's the Food Network that owns the rights to A Cook's Tour - and they apparently have no plans to release the series on DVD. But I just checked TFN's website and the show is still running - erratically - early afternoon or 4 in the morning.

i see you chillin in that picture!!! im sure you did a fantastic job of "fixing" bordain up with great locations to shoot. i cant wait to see the show, especially the paris episode!!!

Chris - I just did what I could to help a fellow cook out. ;) I can't wait to see the show too - I just gotta figure out how to get it in Paris!

heh -- they fixed it -- well played ;)

The Ferran Adria doc that Bourdain did, might be eventually be available on DVD(I believe he owns the rights). It finally aired in Canada & Asia, but to my knowledge it still hasn't aired in the US.

tofu - we couldn't leave our boy hangin' like that!

Steve - "Decoding Ferran Adria" has not yet aired in the States yet. What the hell is that all about? Does that smack of conspiracy theory to anyone else or what? But yes, fortunately Tony and his longtime production company/enablers do own the rights to that one so it one day may be available on DVD.

Louisa so you haven't seen the final cut of the 'Paris' episode? I'm pretty sure, you will make an appearance(or two) on the episode.

Louisa is indeed featured prominently in the final cut of the show..a long, key scene at Rungis market. That episode, I believe, will be the first one aired (in US, July 25th--and in Asia, Europe, South America and elsewhere...later tbd).
Thanks again for the great work Louisa!

Nice to hear from you Anthony. Curious, have you found a Canadian broadcaster yet for your new series? Either way, I'll still catch it(get it on US television).

Just noticed the Bourdain Coundown on this site. 11 days 2 hours 38 minutes...

Tony - I am? It is? I thought for sure I'd end up on the cutting room floor! And it's going to be a World Premiere? I had no idea! You mean when I go to Laos or Andorra boys and girls and will swarm me to ask, "So what's Anthony Bourdain really like!?" And thank me? Really now. Thank you. See you somewhere soon.

i just want the DVD of the whole series. and if Tony personally delivers the package, so much the better!

Glenda - hey, hey now - we don't want this blog to turn into one of those crazy fan sites - oh wait - never mind. Carry on. ;)

Last night show was brilliant!!!
I could even smell Paris in the morning hours while Chef Bourdain was strolling the streets...a mixture of pissoirs ,fresh bread and cigarette smoke... how refreshing and well done thank you for recharging my cultural batteries...

Marie - the pissoirs! Now you're getting me all nostaligic about a classic Paris too! Thanks!

Hey, Y'all,

Bourdain is scheduled to be a guest on David Letterman tonight. Whoopee--can't wait.

And did you see "Hello Darkness My Old Friend" last night? Since it was midnight when I was watching it here in Mississippi (and since my widowed-self lives with my widowed-mother), I had to control my laugh-out-loud desire and make small chuckle-like sounds. Believe you me, that was not one bit easy.

Lynette - this is killing me! I cannot wait to see the show! When I get back to the States I'm going to hunker down with a big sack of chiccharones, a bucket full of Sierra Nevadas on ice, and watch the entire season in one shot!

I'm going mad. My mother watched the Paris episode of Anthony Bordain's No Reservations show and can't remember the name of the restaurant, maybe in the 6th ?, that he recommended.

I've checked every website I could find on the Paris show but no mention of this restaurant. I'm going to be in Paris on Monday. If anyone knows what the name of the restaurant is please let me know. I will be forever grateful and the next time we're both in Paris I will buy you lunch there!
Thanks, Blayne

Blayne - here's the link to the list of all the locations in the AB:NR Paris episode. Bon voyage!

Where can I get a copy of the No Reservation
episode on Macchu Picchu and Cuzco? Thank you.

Linda - you can get that Peru episode here: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000LAZQIU/lklchu-20

Does anyone know the name of the cevicheria in Lima that Gaston Acurio took Anthony Bourdain?
