Thanks again to everyone who heard me on KCRW in LA last Saturday and reminded me to post it. I talked to the sainted Evan Kleiman - host of the show and chef/owner of Angeli Caffe in Los Angeles. We caught up on what the heck's been going on in my life - plus I gave a shout out to my fellow food blogging femmes fatales Pim at Chez Pim, Heidi at 101 Cookbooks, and the uber-cool Kate at Accidental Hedonist. And my deepest apologies to Kate for some stupid reason calling her Amy on-the-air. Can I plead stage fright? Perpetual jet-lag? I flubbed. Also on the show is Carl Chu, author of Finding Chinese Food in Los Angeles and the new Chinese Food Finder series. Though we have the same family name, both lived in Los Angeles and Chicago, and are both evidently obsessive about food, we are not related - not that I know of!
I'm so excited - I finally have time to listen today. I used to love listening on the radio when I lived in LA - usually driving home from the Santa Monica Farmers' Market - maneuvering Wilshire with a cappuccino in one hand and a muffin in the other. I'm going to run down to the boulangerie across the street for a pain au chocolat and then make myself a big bowl of cafe au lait. Not the same but it will have to do.
You can listen online by clicking through link below. The whole show is great. You can find my segment at 34:30 in.
