I´m at El Bulli and hit the ground running.
Got my contract at Les Ambassadeurs - at the Hotel de Crillon in Paris - but still waiting on the visa. May not happen.
Visited my family in Chicago for a few months. Had not seen my parents in three years. The cousins, 5 years. That was good but hard.
Also visited the kitchen at Trio under Grant Achatz.
Stayed up at the Cala Montjoi camp next to El Bulli the first couple of weeks. My own personal gastronomic Apocolypse Now - with Ferran as the Colonel of course.
Now down in one of the stagiaire apartments. Every single one of mis compadres has a CV that would make your head spin. My roommates alone - one was Chef de Cuisine at Toque in Montreal, worked with Tetsuya and Charlie Trotter - the other spent over a year at Arzak.
By the way Juan Mari was in for dinner last night.
Gotta get ready for work now - we carpool/hitchhike into the mountains, to the restaurant.
