I am in the middle of Moving Hell - make that Moving Purgatory. The movers don't come until next week but I've packed everything away already - as much as I can - and am now living in the land of heavy cardboard boxes. The last time I moved I thought I was moving from Beverly Hills to maybe San Francisco. Now I have no idea where I'll open those boxes next. Probably Paris - but knowing my life a little better I really can't know.
So - I've got the bags packed for the Marais - Karli and I are doing a weeklong getaway before we leave town; Chicago - visiting the family and checking out the restaurant scene for a bit; summer at El Bulli - but I think I'm being optimistic with the bikinis; and the rest I think - I think - I'll see again in Paris - when I come back to work - hopefully - at the Crillon.
But the big question is - where to have my last big dinner in Paris? I know that I'm going to pick up a sack o'stuff from Maison Kayser for my family on my morning of departure - they will not be into baguettes, but brioche for sure - it's a lot like the eggy bread you'll find in Asian bakeries.
But what about dinner? Wherever it is, it will have to be comfortable for Karli.
